WHAT IS VIKING EXPLORERS?
DEPARTURE WITH THE TRADE WINDS
Most rallies depart in November or December to reach the Caribbean before Christmas, but the Viking Explorers Rally sets sail in January when the trade winds are normally more stable, ensuring a smoother crossing.

This later departure also allows sailors to spend Christmas at home or celebrate with fellow cruisers in the Canary Islands, before embarking on the adventure.
